First off, there is the plot of Career Day:
Today is “Career Day” over at P.S.114 and James, a 7 year old student is forced to attend the event within his classroom. Bored and not very interested in the career choices presented, he imagines far-fetched versions of each occupation and draws them in his notebook. After he makes several short comics, James’ teacher notices what he is doing and confronts him about it with a question. “What do you want to be when you grow up?” With a smile on his face and a #2 pencil in his hand he replies “An artist”

After finally settling with a thesis idea, it was off to pre-production creation. Considering that this storyline would have a message more so then a traditional plot of hero, villain, conflict, resolve, I had to create the story arch in which viewers would understand who the main character was and what was going on in correlation of transitioning through the "real world" and the child's imagination world. Outside of all of this, how can I create the script to create situations that will allow me to animate epic sences without having to concern about telling the viewer why is this certain action possible in the imagination world. Time to write the script and screen play.

With the project coming to its own, I needed to look up and collect reference for the concept and animation technique. For reference for the concept has to be an old book series that I loved when I was young which is:
HARLOD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON
With Harold and the Purple Crayon, I loved the idea of a child not just living in an imaginary world BUT DRAWS it to be as he wishes. Within the books and animated shorts, it creatively entertaining to see how the world Harold draws starts to have a life of its own, and even though it doesn't move, it does create a storyline that Harold then interacts with.
with animation techniques I looked upon the Metal Gear digital graphic novel/shorts and the short series made to promote "I am Legend". The style in which used many still set pieces to create a nice flow of puppeteering and animation.
